Montag and Clarisse

Montag and Clarisse

A Poem by GARf
"

I wonder if I was going through somewhat of a nihilistic streak when I wrote this... it's around a month old - I'm... just now getting around to posting it *shame! shame!* No prizes for guessing the people referenced in the title... :D

"

We giggled as we slipped our goggles on-
Grasping for each other in the dark,
Finding nothing but darkness, a hand, an arm,
An open embrace in the cold.

We laugh because this is the image posterity will see of us-
The one that will make headlines.
Two outcasts, smiling at each other-
Holding one another in goggled silhouette as one pushes a button-
Flashbaking the rest of civilization.
