singularity -
1.) a point or region of infinite mass density at which space and time are infinitely distorted by gravitational forces and which is held to be the final state of matter falling into a black hole
2.) A trait marking one as distinct from others; a peculiarity
I saw the warning lights, heard the alarms
Some called it madness not to turn back
I cannot listen to them- how can they know?
To observe, even to drift too near, means the end.
Who can say, though, that there is no beauty in fate?
If this is my destiny, then I must meet it, full-speed ahead.
A black hole is inescapable, this much is known-
Not even the swift purity of light can leave it.
It's hard for people on the outside to understand-
They only see Death, peeking out. They fail to see,
That the very things that take in so much light are the things
That need it the most.
If Death be the price for salvation, I would gladly pay it,
For I know that if you are saved, you will release the light you have hoarded,
Spread it to all, and shine as a beacon of hope.
I offer my meager lamp, to add to yours in the hope that, someday,
(Even if it's not my light that acts as the catalyst)
You will let go of your hold on light.
I hope, too, that along with the spheres of iridescent purity,
You might choose to release me as well,
And let me join you among the stars.
