Fire and Water

Fire and Water

A Poem by GARf

We are not the fire that burns and destroys, and then is extingushed, forever. We are the water, moving around, never stationary, either in thoughts or actions, surrounding, feinting, attacking and then retreating. Fire burns, one quick flash and then both it and the object it was burning are gone. Not so with us. We subvert from within, slipping between the cracks and waiting for our opportunity. They try to destroy us, try to kill us, but we evaporate, turning into the gas that they breathe, waiting for our chance to return to our natural form, waiting to finish what we started. They can never beat us; we are indestructable, slipping through their fingers just when they think we have us. Inlike fire, one drop of water cannot grow, only with others like him (or her) can he (or she) triumph. We are not alone, surrounded by our friends we can beat them, eroding the very foundation they are built upon...
