A Poem by GARf
"

I got the idea for this one after listening to the song "Through the Glass", by StoneSour - I write it down on a notecard as soon as I got home, then typed it up and posted it on MySpace the next day.

"

I'd watch them pass, the happy people
Blissfully unaware of my existance
They'd look, but see themselves
The wrong side of this two-sided mirror

She saw me
Separated by fate, she saw through
Beauty itself saw through my cage
I was entranced, helpless

She said she loved me, and like a fool, I believed
Believed we would find a way through the glass
Believed that it would work

Fate is fickle, I reminded myself
He arrived, and, like a pet in a cage
I was forgotten

I beat at the glass until my palms bled
Screamed until I was hoarse
I was powerless, I watched her slip away

I placed my hands in my pockets
To stop the bleeding
There was something there that hadn't been before
a silver key, a way out

Hoping, I grabbed it, crying tears of joy
Then in disgust, I threw it away

The lock was on the wrong side
