Dark Beauty

Dark Beauty

A Poem by Brandon M. Whittaker
"

So I've taken a turn into being goth lately, I'm mainly just experiencing it. But my girlfriend thinks that I make it look good and she's pretty goth herself...so...*shrug*

"

The darkness that clouds my vision is welcoming

Secure...

Beautiful

I never thought such a thing could be found in the nocturnal curtain of night

Eyes outlined by blackness

I peer through the shadow that engulfs the world around me

And I realize that I am not alone...

There is another who shares my love of night

Another who calls to me, begging for an end to her lonliness

Through the loving arms of night I reach fingers touching those of her hand...

Long nails painted the color of our world move smoothly across my palms

Her hand closes around mine and my eyes see through that darkness

Gently I pull

Bringing her to me

In each others arms we stand in the night

Wrapped in each others' dark embrace

I love the imagery in this piece. To find a love to pull you through the darkness until you can see again is inspiring. Amazing writing =]
