Lower Me

Lower Me

A Poem by Brandon M. Whittaker
"

Just a little something I whipped up out of nowhere.

"

Lower me into the cold dead earth
Shed not a single tear
Your sorrow makes my spirit cry
I am not gone
Look into your heart
Search your soul
Know I'm always within you
Edging you further to success
Sending you all the love you need
The memories you have of me
Use them as fuel for your own fires
Let my death empower you
Let my death inspire you
Do what you need to do
To move on
Let not thy pain weigh your strength

Lower me in the cold dead earth

Shed not

A single

Tear...

this is a dark, strong poem. & the way you've written it is beautiful, the words chosen & the flow. death will come for us all someday & we can only hope those who loved us will keep our memory alive. "Your sorrow makes my spirit cry" this is my favorite line. wonderful write.

This poem spoke to me in such a way. It reminds me so much of how I feel that it was like woah he took the thoughts strait from my mind. My life has kind of been horrible lately and to read poems like this is kind of getting me through the hard times. I don't know why, but it does. Good write.
