Ode To The One I loveA Poem by AdaoraA short poem expressing hungry love.If the sun should set on my eyes forever, before June, in June, or after it. I'd think of nothing but you. For it's true that you've left your mark on me forever. My insides have changed hereafter. A bird is singing and I can't hear it. A child is crying and I won't hear it. A lark is singing and I can't hear it. I can only hear your voice. I can only see your face. I can only think of what you taste like. A girl is nudging me to pay attention. A girl is tugging on my arm, asking for my attention. A feather is being moved across my arm and I can't feel it. A feather now moves across my neck and I still can't feel it. I can only feel your arms around me. I can only feel your arms brushing against me. Outside the sun is setting. Outside the sky is yellowing. Outside the fire is dying. I can see your smile when I close my eyes, I can see you walking up to me, the happy wrinkles around your eyes. My love for you will never die, My love for you can never hide. I'm starving without you, I burn with thoughts of you. You consume me, you've left your mark on me forever.
