Cycles

Cycles

A Poem by Furious George

You’ll get older,
marry a person close to you,
you’ll have children,
and pray every night,
that when the next day goes by,
they’ll still be alive.

You’ll fight with each other,
go move with your brother,
the home you raised,
the people for who you prayed
Don't want you there.

Your brother will get mad,
you drink, you smoke,
but your still sad
he doesn't want you there
he doesn't care

You never had anything,
if you can't fall back on it.
but you'll always own your regrets.

Here take this drink,
it won't make a difference
your life, this vessel, this ship.
it's all gonna sink.

You got older.
