A Simple Love

A Simple Love

A Poem by Galen Casanova

Slow dancing around the living room after dinner
Handwritten letters stowed away in a box
Long walks late at night
Staying up til 4 AM talking because you couldn't fall asleep
Feeling your warmth while in your arms
Sharing a space as we do our own things
Long hugs and longer kisses
Reading books together
And cuddling during movies
For me, it's about the little things
Like how you brush my hair out of my face
Or the gleam in your eyes when you look at me
Wrapping your arms around me when I'm sad
And making me laugh until it hurts
Apologizing profusely when you accidentally bump into me while we're cooking dinner
I don't care about showing off
Or proving anyone wrong
I just care about you and what you see in me
A simple life with small moments is all I need
We can have our moments of lots of romance
But it's the little moments that mean the most to me
The things you don't see in movies anymore
Why can't I romanticize my life to the fullest extent
It's just you and me
