Sandy Shores

We sat on the sandy beach
Watching the waves
Crash!
The wave comes ashore
Oh! What a galore
The castle we made
Begins to concave
It's too broken to save
But that's alright
Because you are by my side
On such a cold
And misty night
The sky is filled
With an ocean of stars
As big as your heart
Do you think
That I am right?

Not only does this flow beautifully, but I can easily picture the events of the poem in my mind. It takes me to a cold beach night, with the sand between my toes, the stars overhead, and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. ...despite the fact that my only experiences with beaches have been during the daytime!

This is a short and straight to the point poem, describing details of what happens when in a relationship. I like the line " Begins to concave
It's too broken to save
But that's alright
Because you are by my side" because I think it shows no matter how tough things get, what matters is being together. This poem just nailed my relationship goals. Wonderful.
