Megan's POV

Megan's POV

A Chapter by Funto

Megan’s POV

The sun shone brightly that morning, it was summer time. People flocked around in nice clothes and sunglasses walking to their different places. Oakwood High School was located at the far end corner of Jane Street. A school known for its prestigious students. It was a private school where the rich kids went. It was my school.

I sat in my car, texting on my phone while my driver drove me to school. I mean, come on, a girl got to keep her hands empty. My parents owned the most popular hospital in the state. Everyone loved them and all that s**t. They worshipped them like they were God. I wore a blue skirt and a white miniskirt. A jacket sat beside me. I never went anywhere without a jacket in case it got freakishly cold outside all of a sudden. I had a long straight brown hair which I never planned on cutting btw. My skin was said to be flawless (Thx to my mom). I had the perfect set of teeth and my eyes were blue or brown….I really don’t know. I was the most popular girl in Oakwood High, I guess you should have known that already. I had my own clique of girls which was the most feared in the whole school. I think I pretty much have it all.

My car finally stopped and I stepped out of the car. The wind blew my hair back while I adjusted my skirt. One major disadvantage of wearing short miniskirt. Ugh! I took a deep breath and then grabbed my bag. I could feel everyone eyes on me. But I was used to it. That’s the price I had to pay for being popular. Freakishly Looking Pairs of eyes. I walked into the school and took a turn to my locker. My friends were there already waiting for me. Sometimes I think they stalk my every movement immediately I descend from my car. I took a step at a time allowing everyone to take me in. I got to admit, I loved the attention I always get. I finally reached my locker.

“Hey girlfriends” I said taking my spot in the middle.

“Love the skirt” One of them said, it was Jane.

“Thanks” I replied using my fake smile. God, sometimes she just….ugh! “I got it from Maxwell Plaza” I added.

“No way!” a third girl said. Her name was Sam. She was my most ah-mazing best friend even though sometimes she could push me to the wall. “That is the latest fashion plaza. I am so jealous” she added.

The three of us made the “Fearsome Three”. It was a girls group which I formed back since I was um….I really can’t remember. No one could join the group. It was the three of us and only us.

Sam was my second in command. She had wavy long curls with black highlights, her hair was Brown too. Her skin was light almost as perfect as mine. Ugh! I sound so conceited. Her eyes were dark brown and she had long legs. She wore a pink blouse with a white Jacket and a blue skinny jeans. Underline the word jacket. Yup! She never went anywhere without a jacket too. I always said skinny Jeans made her legs look longer and hotter. I and Sam had been best friends since third grade. I was the popular one and I thought Sam would make a good second in command. Since then, we had always been together.

Jane was the third girl in our group and she was the last to join. She was a girl from the Caribbean. She had straight blonde hair. Her hair was not as long as mine though. She had brown skin and a petite face. Sam always thought she was pretty. I mean not as pretty as me, you know. Her eyes were hazel nut. She wore a leather jacket and a purple Shirt. Jane just loved copying me. She also wore a black leggings and a white boots. To be honest, I was kind of digging her boots. I will probably have them sooner or later since she always tried to please me. Oh Jane.

“Yeah, I know. I am always updated you know” I said causing all of us to laugh.

“Did you hear?” Jane asked, resting on a locker. She was the gossip girl of our group.

“Hear what?” I asked as I typed in my locker combo and opened my locker.

“Michael is out of the basketball team” Jane said as she pulled out a lip-gloss from her purse.

“No way” Sam said.

“Yes” Jane replied. She applied her lip-gloss using my mirror on my locker.

“Good for him” I said. I gave my hair a shake and pulled my books out of my locker.

Jane and Sam looked at each other and sighed. I could sense them.

“Don’t you want to………” Jane was saying but I interrupted her.

“I don’t want to know because I don’t care. Now will you please drop it? I have more important things to do.” I said closing my locker.

“Sorry” Jane said. She knew she had better drop it or she would get on my bad side which was always nasty.

The three of us walked to the class while other girls passing kept on saying “Love the outfit”, “Cool skirt, Megan”.

We finally reached our class and took our spot at the back. The two first classes seems to drag on and eventually it was lunch time. It was the time I loved best. It was the time almost everyone worshipped me and boy do I love the attention.

“You guys go ahead, I want to go to the washroom” I said to Jane and Sam.

“Okay, don’t be late” Sam said. She always wanted to be with me. It just freaked me out.

I walked into the washroom to reapply my lip-gloss and makeup. The door suddenly opened and another girl entered. I thought her name was Mary or something.

“Hi Megan” She said

I eyed her from top to bottom and then continued with my makeup.

“I love your skirt. I saw it the other day at Maxwell Plaza. Wanted to buy it” She said again pulling out a comb from her bag.

I looked at her wondering how a girl like her will ever go to Maxwell plaza. She wore a navy blue skirt with a pink skirt and a white leggings. Her shoes were black.

“So, when did you get it?” she asked.

I finished applying my makeup and eventually I spoke.

“Listen to me. I don’t know you and I don’t want to know you. You stay out of my way and quit asking me about things. I wonder how a girl like you was ever allowed into the plaza. Now get a life.” I said and packed my makeup.

Mary stood there, dumbfounded. She mumbled a silent “Okay” and watch me walk out. I loved making people scared. For some reasons, it made my self-confidence increase. I walked into the cafeteria and took my spot at my table.

“What took you so long?” Sam asked immediately I sat down.

“Really? I was busy. My life doesn’t revolve around you, you know. I don’t have to give you a report on what happens to me in the washroom. So quit asking me.” I replied and took a granola bar out of my purse. Sometimes Sam was such a busy body that it pisses me off every day.

“Oh my God, will you calm down?’ Sam said frowning.

“I should calm down? You should calm down. You keep asking me everything I do. What the hell is wrong with you?” I said glaring at Sam. Sam suddenly got scared. She knew this could turn into an ugly fight.

“I was just being concerned, that’s all.” Sam said.

“Get a life, Sam” Jane said.

I opened my granola bar and started eating it. God, I was hungry. My eyes scanned the room for Michael and when I found him, I smiled evenly.

“Come on girls, we have some mess to take care of” I said.

The three of us stood up simultaneously with me in the lead. I walked gracefully towards Michael. When I got to where he was, I took a seat at the table and crossed her legs.

Michael was a boy who I had dated. We had both been crazy for each other until suddenly he started acting strange. I later found out that he was cheating on me with some other bimbo. I was so furious, I decided to ditch school for three days. When I came back, I went along with my normal life and decided to get my revenge on him.

“What do you want here?” Michael asked looking at me suspiciously.

I smacked my lips, flipped my hair and batted my eyes. Gee, I looked so vain. “Hi Michael” I said.

“We heard what happened” Jane said smiling.

“We thought we should stop by” Sam added. She was looking at me wondering if I was still mad at her.

Michael looked at the three of us one after the other and then took a seat along with Jane and Sam. Not that I cared anymore.

“I didn’t think I would see you here, Megan” He said.

“Oh please. You offended me. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t keep an eye on you” I said flashing my perfect set of white teeth. Michael always loved when I smiled. Ugh! I wasn’t thinking about getting back together with him, am I?

“Look, I told you. I am sorry……..” Michael was saying but I interrupted him by placing a finger of my French manicured nails on his lips.

“Shhh, I don’t want you to apologize to me now. Your apology is without emotion. I want an apology with emotion which I will eventually get because things might, oh I mean, will get ugly and nasty.” I said and then drew my fingers back.

“Megan, what are you saying?” Sam suddenly asked me. I mean, will this girl quit making my life miserable?

I turned to look at her, staring at her directly with a hard look.

“Excuse me?” I asked.

Sam knew to keep her dirty mouth shut. I mean why will she be questioning my authority in front of my ex. But for some reasons, she just kept talking.

“I mean, what did you mean things might get ugly and nasty” She asked trying not to look into my eyes.

“What the hell is wrong with you?’ I asked. I was standing up and yelling now. Gosh, I just loved the attention. It was like I was obsessed with it. “Are you out of your mind? Why do you keep asking me things every time?

“I just wanted you to be detailed. That’s all” Sam said. Now she just sat there looking at me as if I was going to bite her.

“Listen, if you want to keep behaving like a scared cat every time, then maybe you should not be in this group.” I said, hands on my hips. Everyone was looking at us now.

“Oh come on Megan, I know you didn’t mean that” Sam said. She was shaking now. I smiled, leaving the group meant the end of her life.

“I am serious. You keep stalking me every time and it’s really creepy. I hate it. Maybe you are not my best friend anymore.” I said, crossing my arms.

Sam sat there looking shocked. Her face became pale and her eyes were filled with tears.

“I am sorry” she mumbled.

“I bet there are other bunches of scared cats as you who will die to hang out with you. You are freaking pissing me off.” I said and then turned to Michael. “Things will get nasty” I said and then grabbed my purse. “Come on Jane” I said and then walked away.

“You should have just kept your mouth shut” I heard Jane say and hurried after me.

“Megan! Megan! Megan! Wait!” Sam called after me but I didn’t even stop walking. I mean, I got to hold my head high. She was such a piss off and I don’t get why she always behaved that way.

The bell rang then.
