The Mayor

The Mayor

A Story by FunkPunk

Day One
Juno opened his eyes slowly, blinking a couple times before they adjusted to the lights that passed by. The train sped down the tracks towards the destination that was scheduled. It looked like the train was empty except for a single person. He looked about Juno's age, 17, and he had short, black, messy hair. His bright eyes stared straight at Juno as he began to sit up straight and gather his thoughts. Juno looked around and let out a yawn as he noticed the young man staring at him. "A-Ah?" escaped his lips as the male got up and walked over to him, sitting in front.
"Hello!" he exclaimed as he smiled brightly. Juno stared at him, unsure of how to respond to his approach. "You must be Juno, correct?"
Juno slowly nodded, tilting his head a bit, "Uh-huh... How do you know of me?" The male let out a laugh and held out his hand, leaning forward as well.
"My name is Rover! I get around, you see." Juno shook his hand slowly and smiled a bit. "Where do you plan on going, Juno?"
Juno blinked and looked down at the floor, letting go for Rover's hand. "I... I don't know exactly. It's all a blur really." Rover quickly reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded map.
"Here! Check this out and tell me if any of these towns look familiar to you." Juno reached forward and grabbed the map, flipping through multiple towns until one caught his eye.
"This one looks familiar. What's it called?" Juno tapped the map lightly twice and Rover hopped down beside him, staring down at the map.
"Let's see... That's Steller! My sister lives there and she tells me how beautiful it is there. It seems like they're getting a new mayor today as well." Rover looked Juno up and down and paused, lost in thought. "Could you...? No, never mind! Well," he got up and adjusted his shirt, "I'll be heading back to my seat. Take care, Juno. Got it?" Juno nodded and held up the map to Rover but he shook his head, smiling. "Keep it. It's a gift from me to you." He nodded and looked down at the floor.
"Stellar, huh?" A sigh escaped Juno's lips as he folded up the map and stared out the window.

Juno is a tall male. He has long, navy hair that he always puts up in a ponytail. A black eye patch covers his left eye because of reasons unspoken of. He really has no idea how he ended up on that train or why Rover knew of him but all he knows is that he's heading straight to Stellar.

A Few Hours Later
The train halted at Stellar and Juno stood up, grabbing his light backpack in the process. He walked to the center of the hallway and stared at Rover who was staring back at him. He merely winked at him and smiled brightly, saying, "Say hi to my sister, got it?" Juno nodded and smiled back, shouldering his bag as the train doors opened, making a sliding noise. "Will do, Rover. Thank you."
The train attendant smiled at Juno when he got off the train and held out his hand. Juno took it, confused slightly but shook it. A big grin ran across the males face as he stepped back and bowed, "It's an honor to meet you, Mayor." Juno's eyes widened and he shook his hands in front of him and stepped back.
"N-No! You have the wrong person!" Juno exclaimed but the train attendant merely laughed it off and rolled his eyes.
"You have quite the sense of humor, sir. Everyone's waiting for you out front! Don't keep them waiting, okay?" Juno slowly walked to the front, keeping eye contact with the male. The doors swung open before Juno grabbed the handle and confetti flew at him while two people, a boy and girl, blew horns in a happy tune. Some others held up balloons and a woman stood in the middle, standing proper and holding a huge smile on her face.
"Welcome to Stellar, Mayor Juno!"
The horns blew the happy tune over and over, taking Juno to another land. All of this was hitting him hard. He had no idea what was going on and his head was spinning. The sun shinned down on him and the warm embrace made him stumble in his place.
"Mayor?" The lady looked concerned as she stared at Juno. She stepped forward but stopped quickly as he fell quickly to the floor, blacked out.
