Where I'm From

Where I'm From

A Poem by Virtue
"

Where are you from?

"

Where I’m From…

I am from the wild flowers budding in the ground.

From the lightest shade of plums.

I come from the highest branches above,

from the lonely and deep recess below.

I am from the play-station and pop-tarts,

where I could act the fool

without any rules.

I’m from the moxie of ham and bold nail polish,

from where my father may have died.

From my mother who kept in tack

his battered soul.

I’m from triple trouble,

from a problem child

and siblings of the wild,

that forged the path before me.

I’m from furry additions

at the cost of a painful goodbye.

I’m from a world of deep thoughts and unsolved puzzles.

From the lost and abandoned bird

I fed but once;

the wish of mine to fly high,

and the broken piece when I came down.

My path a forest of riddles

to which some I’ve solved.

Let come what may come

for I am from where I am going.
