Color of my heart

In the depths of sorrow, you sit alone,
With a broken heart, that none have known.
A rainbow heart, so bright and bold,
But no one seemed to care or behold.

You gave your love, unleashed your soul,
But they could not see, your love took its toll.
The colors of your heart, they began to fade,
As you tried to hold on, and the pain was made.

The pieces scattered, as your heart did break,
But in the darkness, a light did awake,
It whispered softly, "Hold on, dear one,
For your rainbow heart, will again shine like the sun."

And so you picked up the pieces, one by one,
Holding on to hope, as the new day begun,
The colors returned, brighter than before,
And your rainbow heart, once again did soar.
