Its completely OK if you dont connect!

     Oh Womaniya!

 

 

You are born to survive 

Just like the rest,

But then they always expect

You to be the best!

You have to be an obedient daughter

You will be educated, but then,

Expected to choose a convinient profession

So that you can mould according to them.

You have to be the inspiring sister

For your brothers an example,

Or perhaps rather for an experiment,

The universal sample.

You will be taught to be a fighter,

But then grow into a graceful lady.

Profanity and temper you have to discard,

Rebellion can't be your cup of tea!

You have to be a charming prospect

For your suitors in bevy,

May be they will let you choose

But will try to architect your destiny.

You have to be a responsible wife,

After all thats the legacy.

You have to be the best mother

Be the pride of the family!

 

 

Will you realize or ponder upon the thought?

Not once in the years by gone,

Around and above all the phases of your life,

You were, you are and will be a "WoMan"!

I'd totally understand if many of you do not connect to the chliche traditional view point.
I see it so i've written it. No offense meant.. Inspiration definitely :)

I could say a lot about this poem but the ending really wrapped it all up with a bundle of dynamite. It's strange to think that a female human being is defined as having no intrinsic value in our society. Woman, Her self can not be defined in terms of not existing relative to a man. All of the expectations that fall under that umbrella are staggering to think about. This is a huge weight to bear and pains me a bit to think that in some way, every girl will have to live with the fact that she may have to eventually hurt the feelings of those she loves...in order to simply be who she wants to be. The awareness of the sense of entitlement that allows one human being to expect another to be what THEY want them to be is a lesson I will take from this poem. Some men call women insane. I find it unbelievable that any woman can stay sane in such an insane world.

Happy Womens Day - I know there is gender inequality and other bad stuff in the life of women... but all one can do is stand up for yourself....

Happy International Women's Day FE. and to all !!
This is a real hard-hitting poem on a woman's lot in life (in most cases) - they give up their Self to be all things to everyone in their lives - what a sacrifice ! And experiencing an awakening can be the most hard thing because then you lose the (very limited) bliss of ignorance

It reminded me of a queen termite or queen bee - "just make babies!!" the worker bees shout at her all day (I imagine) "How dare you try to enjoy your own life!!??"
