So what do you think?

So what do you think?

A Poem by Frozen Eyes
"

rendezvous

"

You see her through the rear view mirror in a silent alley

Not many shadows under the street lamps that evening

She looks like the jovial next door girl

But you start wondering could it really be her?

A few younger boys close up to her, crack a joke may be

First there is a subdued giggle and then they start laughing

You think it’s none of your business but you don’t drive away

You stay there, to watch more, curiosity aching inside, may be a lot more!

One of the boys lights a f*g, puffs on it and passes to another

The gossip and the giggle break the silence of the alley

A few locals, probably getting back to home from work

Walk down the alley , take a moment to stare at the bunch

Give them a look of disgust, sigh a little and move on

You still rooted on your seat keep an eye on the mirror images

Wondering what could possibly be going on there

The bunch doesn’t care about the looks they’re busy “living”

She reaches for the puff, drags on it and exhales a cloud through her pouted lips

Oh wait! Through her nostrils too, you are amazed

Not that you have seen a girl smoking for the first time

But in your own town it was the first one sure

Suddenly you assume she could be one of those girls

But your curiosity keeps building up with every passing second

Then comes a slum kid shabbily dressed and peeps through your window

He looks pale and starved, asks for money, you wave him in refusal

He approaches the bunch, she reaches for her wallet, suddenly changes her mind

Grabs the tiny wrist and walks with him down the lane

You just can’t keep sitting there anymore, you need to know

Mirror images are not enough, so you walk out

Walk behind her, leaving the rest of the bunch behind

You find them at a close by street food kiosk

The kid devouring a plate of pav bhaji, and she is serenely sipping her tea

You smile, and turn to leave just then she calls out to you

You are obviously astonished; you turn around with that blank face

She walks up to you and says, “So what do you think?”

You are clueless, breathless and speechless at the same time

You manage to spit out in broken voice, “About what?”

She grins, winks, lightly pats on his shoulder and says,

“About the small town girl you’ve been watching since last twenty-one minutes?”

You can't always judge someone by your first meeting. People have many different sides to them, so it is impossible to always sum someone up by a few minutes. I could imagine every scene. Thanks for sharing with me again!
