She stepped on the red carpet

Her Gucci shoes looked stunning

She looked mesmerizing in the black dress

That draped around her white skin

A cascade of golden hair falling carelessly

And Oh! Those killer red lips!

One look at her million fans surrounding her

And a crowd of hearts skipped one

Perhaps two, oops! a lot of beats

She flashed her million dollar smile

Paparazzi flashed back their lenses 

To capture a glimpse of her nonpareil allure

Oh! The enchantress stood there with elegance

She was about to wave her hands

She slowly raised her right arm in poise

Ouch! What was that maddening noise?

Why was everyone in tears?

Why was everyone lamenting?

From where was the dirge swooping in?

There she lay in her coffin

Gone was her stardom, glamour of no use

Burried six feet under the face of earth

An unforeseen end she faced bravely

On her gravestone the words engraved in red

"Smile 'cause NOTHING LASTS FOREVER"

It's amazing how "hot" one can be this year with cameras following them everywhere
they go and the next year it can all be gone. It's sad to think that this person seems
to never have existed in the first place. Maybe they ceased to go on as a person, once
they where transformed into a symbol. Strangely enough, one who admires her so much
as to try and be like her...ceases to be a person as well as they give up their individuality
to be the "person" they robbed of their humanity when they made a symbol. So much
thinking to do...Nice one! You have a unique teknik of writing on many levels at once.

It's more worthwhile to work on becoming a better person than it is to fit in a new dress. Looks fade away and suddenly no one cares what you used to look like. But people will always care about what kind of character you have within you. Thanks for sharing!

Not enough do. I should have chosen my wording a bit better on this review. Many people say they care about the inner character more than the outer appearance. Most of time this is said just because they know it's the right thing to say. That doesn't mean they actually buy into that and believe it. Though you find through time that there are people out there who do actually mean it. You find that the ones who don't aren't worth your time anyway. Outer packages can be gorgeous but alone they hold no real substance.

Wonderful imagery. I found myself seeing the adoring fans as though I was her. The death was a shocking twist, I initially expected her to lose her cool in front of her audience. I loved the final line. Haunting and true.
