Broken Love

Broken Love

A Poem by FrostAshdove

The clouds are dark

The sunset is broken

Love has been lost

As an ancient token

The darkness closes around

The shadows run in

Swift as a  river

Faster than their kin

The heart splits in two

With a gut wrenching sound

The moans of death rattle

Through the cold icy ground

The sands of time churn

Bonded threads are tearing

Caught up in a storm

A peaceful fabric is wavering

Dancing on the edge

Of an infinite realm

I’ll join you for the trip

On Death’s boat, on the helm

So into the blackness

And far off beyond

No one thought that I meant it

When I said I’d be gone
