The World.

The World.

A Poem by Ellie W. Montreal

So, pack your bags & check your luggage.
Look around you one last time.
Take one last breath in this room, because soon, you'll be gone.
Leaving for the world.
Never coming back, not for anyone,
not even me.

Ah, the "real" world.
Such livid bull.
We all know that young adults just going to college tend to call it that.
I, don't think there is such a thing as the real world.
Just, a world.
Not real, not fake.
Not imaginary or fiction.
Not realistic or nonfiction.

Just a world.
Things happen in this world, whether they're emotional or physical.
They mess you up, or make you better.
But as long as you're in this world, you might as well make it worth something.

So,
If I were you, I would look around me,
Take a breath,
& brace myself to face the world.
Oh, I'll be back if I were you.
But I'd just be on a trip around the corner of the world is all.
