A Necessary SacrificeA Chapter by FriskaThroughout most of Terra-Delta life was well off. Families lived in peace and there was always life at parks and different venues like any other city. Birds chirped their songs of joy and people went about their daily lives and jobs as if nothing ever went into turmoil, Ana’s work to restore the city in the name of her supposedly dead wife had almost been completed. However as in every city there lied a darker side within the shadows. Not everything had been rainbows and happiness when Anastasia took control, some families were killed in the act of greater good and people’s lives hung in the balance until Ana fully rose to power. Anastasia knew that not everyone had a kind and warm smile to her, but she knew that it was necessary for the city to go back to how things were. She stared outside of her office window, her mind racing with past events that she hated with a passion, that she knew she would never forgive herself for but she had to remind herself how important it was. The casualties and destruction was sadly needed and for Anastasia, as long as her mission of honoring Michelle was complete then all would have been worth it. With Michelle not being dead any longer though, Anastasia wondered how “worth it” it all seemed. She looked at the ground and huffed, if Michelle was meant to come back to life anyways could she just have waited and had her life back? It was a grand question within her racing mind but it didn’t matter in the end, every single horrible act that she had committed to be in this place of power was already in the past and could not be changed. With this last grim realization that nothing could simply go back to normal any longer she stared back out the window, watching a young man who was weaving through crowds of people during the lunch time rush, he seemed to be in a hurry and had a large smile on his face. Ana simply brushed it off and stood up from her chair silently and stretched all of her limbs, her bones cracking with a soft popping sound on almost every portion of her body, sighing she left to another room with a slouched posture, off to complete her daily routine. The young man who had been seen by Ana continued to walk through the large crowd of people throughout the city, his smile had been for a good reason as another plan was finally put into place. Running into a nearby building with his feet pounding the ground every step of the way and nearly tripping on himself he entered an office room where another man sat with his fingers pressed together as he waited. The young man took a deep breath as a shudder ran through his body, “Master Zon” his voice shaky and quiet almost but with hints of triumph, “She has returned.” Zon’s lips curled into a smile as he turned his chair around which squeaked as he did so, looking at the boy and chuckling to himself, “Then all is going according to plan” his croaky and ethereal voice answered to the boy who shuddered yet again, as if Zon’s very words chilled the room, “Execute phase two” he ordered the young man who nodded and quickly got up, running out of the room, only his feet being heard as they pat the ground with every step.© 2016 FriskaAuthor's Note
