RealityA Chapter by FriskaAs they walked Michelle could notice her surroundings had most certainly changed since she had last seen them, Jeff was not joking when he said she had been asleep for quite a long time. Upon reaching the outskirts of the city it looked as if an apocalypse had fallen down on Michelle’s world, the city in disarray and not as much activity from normal, nice looking people as she had hoped, instead it looked nearly identical to a broken society straight from a nightmarish horror movie. Walking in with Jeff was like being the new person in class with the teacher escorting her, people from around the corners and out on the street stared at her as if she were a malformed monster they were seeing for the first time, their faces distraught and with multiple grimaces as a constant expression. In such a town like this there must have been some sort of leader of the pack ensuring that there is order of some kind and Michelle wondered who and where said leader was. “Kinda desolate isn’t it?” Jeff just suddenly exclaimed, causing Michelle to jolt a bit as she was in somewhat of a trance while thoughts raced wildly in her head. “Y-Yea” she was able to stutter out, “what caused the city to get like this?” “Oddly enough it seemed to happen as soon as Ana called me up to tell me about you supposed death” “So what exactly happened then?” Michelle looked off toward the decrepit buildings, years really had passed. “What happened is Ana went berserk after her depression faded, rampaging through the streets for a few weeks before taking over as the new leader of the city of Lorlei” Jeff looked over at Michelle with a small chuckle, “never thought Ana had that kind of power y’know?” Michelle nodded, she knew what kind of power Anastasia could bring herself to possess but she never thought it’d be possible for her to take over an entire city after nearly destroying it. Suddenly a thought popped into Michelle’s mind, “Wait, Jeff, where is she?” she had been frantic to find her wife and now there was a definite way, knowing Ana was definitely alive. Jeff sighed as he looked over at Michelle with a tone that clearly wasn’t the happiest, “She is the leader yes but she doesn’t come out often, she secludes herself and it will most likely be impossible to just walk in to where she is, heavily guarded and constantly surveyed as she just sits around the building, the people know what power she possesses and won’t dare to attempt to defy her” The words caused Michelle to shudder, how could her sweet wife be capable of doing such a thing, was she really that necessary to Ana’s life? At the same time would it be possible to change years of harm done to the emotional state of her wife? Or would she not even recognize her after so much time. At this point it wouldn’t matter, she just wanted to see her wife again, no matter the cost. After a few more minutes of walking down the street Michelle noticed that there was a building that definitely looked different from the rest, a lot more up kept and not as destroyed as the rest of the buildings, meaning that was the only possible building that Ana could have been in. Jeff stopped and looked at Michelle, “Michelle, this is where she is but remember that she is heavily guarded and won’t be easy to get to, if you just walk in you’ll be slaughtered in an instant” Jeff was definitely serious, no amount of humor in his voice, this was a very dangerous thing to do but Michelle didn’t care, if she could at least see Anastasia one last time then it would be alright with her, even if that moment is her last.© 2016 Friska |
