Working Up An Appetite

Working Up An Appetite

A Poem by Friday Junior
"

A poem about patience and desire

"
Girl, ya got me
on a short leash of approval
I never thought
you'd find me so useful
I kill the enemy,
thus setting you free
And this is all
that happens to me
You see,
I'm working up an appetite
Looking for someone
who's out of sight
And you might do me fine tonight...

I've been waiting for tonight
I've been working up an appetite
Not for food or a movie night
But I still find you out of sight

I am the original
star child
A crazy old man
gone wild
And if you can tame me
with a smile
Or save me
with your brazen style
I will let you indulge for awhile
I'm working up an appetite
I'm a killer
with no need to fight
I proved myself
long before tonight
And this is my final call...

I've been waiting for tonight
I've been working up an appetite
Not for food or a movie night
But I still find you out of sight
