Caution..

Caution..

A Poem by Freya Scott-Rockel
"

I wrote this poem in what I would refer to as a romantically self-destructive phase of my life. It is about being drawn to the wrong choices repeatedly. But you can make of it what you will.

"
The grass under my feet is soft and green as the sun heats the park

The leaves lean friendly to brush and leave kisses on my face

I don't notice them

The sky is filled with clouds that billow and blow out of reach

And breezes chase each other along the street to dart away from my fingers

A climb to the highest point to catch the clouds could end in falling

The berries that line the hedgerows are bright and unknown. There is no guessing at the danger in a single bite as they sweetly smile and sit to tantalize knavishly

But I will never settle for anything less.
