this really paints a nice picture. we presume two young lovers carved their names on a tree, hoping that their youth and passion will last forever. but i like how the heart is carved "crudely." it seems even in this magical moment nothing is perfect. very vivid, layered haiku.

A fabulous senryu Marie. Reminds me of hearts carved on tree bark. Often crudely done by teenagers. No doubt the carvings in some cases lasted much longer than the romance. Your senryu gave opportunity to travel in thought flight. Very nicely composed. Thank you so much.
