Christmas Surprise.

I can still remember the little girl standing still,
nose pressed against the window pane
enchanted by the Christmas Tree
decorated with different coloured lights
as she stood there in the rain.

She wasn't more than four or five.
Her eyes as wide as a saucer
to see such a thing of beauty
and ornaments animated as if alive.

They didn't have a tree at home
though it would have been so nice.
Her parents didn't buy one,
they couldn't afford the price.

She gazed longingly at the tree in wonder,
it was magical in her eyes
and she promised when she was older
she would buy one just as nice.

Then came Christmas morning.
Santa came at 3:00
and brought the little girl
her very own Christmas Tree.

Her heart near stopped when she saw it.
She couldn't believe her eyes.
There beneath the Christmas Tree
were gifts and beautiful toys.

How she loved that Christmas Tree.
She has it to this day.
The magic never faded.
Enchanting! Her children say.

Each year she makes a wish
upon the Christmas Tree
for health and happiness for her family
and for everyone, for you and you and me!

CHAPTER 1,333 : after wandering for a while the two friends - smiles radiant, realised their walk was almost finished. Their hair blew in the late afternoon breeze, their eyes were drunk with the sight of so many beautiful sights. They looked at each.. gently nodded, bent down and then......
.. rolled and rolled and rolled all the way down Spacious Hill, laughing like the school girls they had once been and - still were in their special way..

Smiles stilled, they had taken their friendship pledge on 16/12/2024 as the first star lit their way into the thought of sweet sleep and glorious dreams.. .. ..
