Dance of Love.

After dinner you invite me out to dance.

Our hearts filled with tender love and sweet romance,

and as I slip into your arms and they touch my bare skin,

I tremble with desire to the music playing within!

 

We dance so close as our music plays.

Lovingly looking into each other’s eyes ablaze,

my arms wrap 'round you, yours enfold me,

your kisses thrill me - they’re oh, so heavenly!

 

And so we make love as our songs play on.

My heart is yours, yours is mine, truly won.

Sweet sighs, soft moans echo in the air,

as two bodies lock in love and you caress my hair.

 

Again, we kiss so tenderly.

Our tongues caressing lovingly.

Two loving hearts now beat in tune,

two bodies entwined greet the silver moon.

dance, love, passion... titles that make life more beautiful. I believe that the world will be saved in a future where love remains real and everyone experiences it. There are enough dance floors in the world for everyone. Only some say they are bad at dancing and never go on stage. But isn't dancing a skill that can be learned later, with the right partner?

Hello Beren and thank you for reading and for your insightful comment. There were dance halls in every town and village in Ireland once upon a time, but now, none exist! Dances were a lovely way to meet new people and enjoy a wonderful evening dancing to a top class band of the day!

It was my wife that taught me to love dancing. It truly is the ultimate in cooperation and closeness. The feel the rhythm of the music in one’s body as one moves with one’s partner dips deep into the primitive and central origins of love itself. This poem, so nicely written speaks to that and the emotion between two people caught together in a moment in time where music carries them away to that special place or souls entwine
