I just wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts on your poem. It’s beautifully written, but I found it quite sad. It really resonates with me, especially because I often find myself running late due to my demanding schedule of 12-hour shifts, seven days a week. Your words captured a sense of longing and the struggle of balancing life’s responsibilities, which I can definitely relate to. Thank you for sharing such a poignant piece!

Thank you for kindly reading Elnnes and for your very kind comment too...
I dislike waiting. Some folks like to be late. I understand the flow of thoughts in the words dear Marie. I was a soldier. 10 minute early or you were late. Very nice dance of words and thoughts my dear friend.

I remember this feeling when my husband and I started dating, years ago.
He always ran late because of his job and I hated the feeling, time always ran out.
Luckily I don't have this feeling to often anymore.
Definitely a poem about time, and when reality hits, starts to get frustrating..

Thank you, dear Amy. Brightest blessings your way today...
Quite relatable, I get the fear when I feel someone takes longer to get somewhere or get home, the apprehension is great, different thoughts keeps on coming widely
A very good poem,
Thanks for sharing

Thank you for kindly reading and for your very kind comment, dear Tumi...
I hate that anxiety that happens when one is late to meet us.
All the things that run through our head....did something bad happen? something tragic?
are they just being selfish and rude? did they play us?
I hate feeling up in the air....especially when I am petrified of heights.

These words could describe many different types of situations. All of them point to one emotion: fear. In this case it is fear of the unknown, which in its own way can exceed fear of the known.

I believe the modern term they say nowadays is ' fashionably late ' though not my style as one should never keep a lady waiting i say, shows a lack of respect to say the least.... Nice brevity Marie!!

Been there and done that. Urgency marks this poem in itsvery construction. The choice of placing short one or two word lines makes it driven with racing power as if each second is ticking by. The question never answered is further fuel for the driving dilema. Tick, tick, tick goes the clock and the poem runs out. What to do when the person waited for does not come? What does it mean? Are you being stood up, unimportant in their view or has something happened? A thousand things go through the mind. Very nicely done my friend.
