Always and Forever...

We walk along the seashore
as night is drawing nigh.
The sun has set majestically
silver stars dot the night sky.

 

With fingers interlinked
we walk by the outgoing tide.

Two hearts beat in unison
as two lovers walk side by side.

 

You wrap your arms around me

I gaze adoringly in your handsome face.

The light of your love dances there
which time cannot erase.

 

As we walk along the sand
we chat as lovers do,

so lovingly, I squeeze your hand
as you whisper I Love You!

 

A love that lives forever
beyond the limits of time,
beats within our hearts dear,

forever I am yours and for always you are mine.

A most romantic setting with a chosen one pledging one's love to each other. A poem of unity. Love the metaphor of the sea shore as the edge of humanity, life, one's universe vast and deep and then the statement "as night is drawing nigh" the twilight of one's life being implied. This seemes reinforced with the sun having set and emphasizing "silver" star, Again in the next stanza "outgoing tide" Here the timelessness of love is emphasized as it echos over and over in the next few phrases like echos in the vastness of time's well.
