Senryu On A Train.

Senryu On A Train.

A Poem by Marie
"

A set of Senryu to describe a train journey.

"

Train runs like wildfire.
Sparks fly from the rust steel tracks.
In the sky, sun smiles.

The silver serpent
slithers noisily to interrupt
my sweet thoughts of you!

Tall skeleton trees
wave their branches to the sun
and say “Good morning!”

Some fluffy white clouds
drift in unison across the blue sky,
the sun reappears.

I like the second one....when I hear a train passing, I actually think of an old girlfriend and watching her leave one day...it was back in 1970, when I started writing poetry...maybe I did when that happened...shed a lot of tears that afternoon.
I like the sunshine in these...uplifting.

You really are a mistress of the Senryu art. creating a story set to form, yet singing s its own song. Lovely, perfect!

Thank you so very much, Sky!!!
What a marvelous touch stringing together a series of senryus making a greater image. Simply lovely and very artistic as well as creative. From the beginning you have ingeniously woven fire into all three lines with sparks and the sun as well as its mention in the first line as wildfire. Alliteration forms the second stanza with a sound like a snake "silver serpent slithers" it is so visceral sending shivers, much like the involuntary shivers of love. Very nice Marie
