The East Wind Blows.

Elm leaves fall from their body
twisting in the wind
like a girl on a
flying trapeze.

They fall in sweeping spirals
like ringlets on a little
girl’s shoulders as

they pirouette into
a channel of rain
and sail down the street
like fairy ships
of many colours.

When the east wind blows, be ready to watch a stunning array of leaves, show where colors are fading, dancing to the earth...popping off hair...then the rains came and the leaves follow a trail of water as it flows down the streets,or like a ship breaking the waves....Very visual Marie, thanks for sharing....love autumn!

Delicate and feminine are the two words that come to mind with this poem. It breathes of the fresh air in the wind that is mentioned it floats like the leaves also mentioned and falling it gives a sense of fall and a Christmas in the air. Yeah, at the same time, it is colorful as autumn is. There is a calm and restful feeling to this poem.
