Be
not worried!
Let all worry fade.
A heart is now broken
by a love that's unmade.
An everyday story, today it's my turn.
Nothing unusual just a heart in fragments torn.
Life will go on
regardless it seems.
No longer together
will we share our dreams.
Yet, memories will live
in this heart of mine
of a wonderful love, truly divine.
So, please do not worry put all your fears to rest.
In my heart I am happy
knowing I did my best.
I guess some things are never
really meant to be.
We're one of those sad lost love
stories
You and me...
Wow! So beautifully expressed. It's a bit heart wrenching to read the pain, loss about a love story that didn't work out. An everyday story - a story beyond words. The title drew me in and as I read through this one I could sense the everyday in it, to be in it, live it and lose it. Some things are never really meant to be as you say. But always, we never know what's in store, life goes on and we may bump into something we have never imagined and feel fulfilled. Thanks Marie for writing and sharing. Warm wishes your way, Abhi.

This poem reflects emotional pain of a broken relationship while also conveying a sense of peace and understanding about the situation.
A sense of nostalgia was felt, and it showed us that even thought things come to and end, we must cherish it all.
"So, please do not worry
put all your fears to rest.
In my heart I am happy
knowing I did my best."
Acceptance can be very hard, but sometimes it is the best, least destructive position to assume. We hope and maybe even expect one thing, but end up with something else. My octogenarian father once said he'd like to have "pizza pie" for lunch, or that's what I thought he said, so I took him to a pizza restaurant. I thought he wasn't fond of pizza, but there he was, eating his pizza without saying a word. I later realized he had said "piece of pie". How I wish my hearing had been better. Perhaps Cupid needs a hearing aid. Excellent writing, my friend.

A tale growing more and more common these days, although it may have been played to a different tune years ago when people stayed together despite loosing love. Your poem strikes deep at human relationships and how as a species we are not meant to be monogamous. Fairy tales are made up of happily ever after and poets write of idyllic love but passion wanes over time and with good luck becomes friendship love. Your poem puts this dying relationship so well that despite your first assurance not to be worried, it leaves a sense of discomfort in the reader questioning whether their relationship will fair the same. I love the way you use the negative "unmade" to express the positive (broken, destroyed) Lastly there is a ray of hope for the reader of this tragedy in that good memories live on in the mind of the writer. So nicely stated in verse.
