Waves hum
tunes to daisies white
as sun shines down, to their delight.
The daisies dance gently to and fro
and whisper secrets only the waves know.
Jealous rain begins to fall.
No shelter for the daisies tall.
The wind joins in and blows for fun.
Sweet petals fall, as if shot by a gun.
The waves so angry rush to shore
but cannot reach the daisies now at death’s door.
The daisies hang their heads and sigh
as the wind whips them up and leaves them to die.
Those poor daisies; sounds like nature itself is out to get them. Whatever place this is written about sounds lovely. The lines "The wind joins in and blows for fun; Sweet petals fall, as if shot by a gun" is pretty powerful. There's a lot of intense emotions in this poem about sweet daisies just trying to live their best lives, only to be batted around by the elements.

The ways of nature are beautiful, cruel, but always wondrous. Daisies will rise up again, the waves will swell, and the play will repeat itself again and again, stirring our emotions each time. Marvelous words, Marie.

Agree 100% Sam. Thank you for reading and for your kind words. Bless you always...
Nature, to we humans, seems at times merciless. Never the less fairness, mercy are human concepts. The whole first stanza reflects what we may call the gentleness and warmth of nature. The second stanza rain personified as jealous and also the wind. Here we see the human effect of bullying. The last stanza also personifies the waves now angry but the daisies are out of their reach and they are again beat up by a merciless wind that leaves them to die. What we see as sad, unfair, mean is merely nature and its survival of the fittest and evolution that strengthens the species spreading the strongest seeds. I like many others was a victim of bullying when young and it made me stronger when I learned to stand up and fight back. The bullies became good friends in the face of adversity just as I now am friends with the wind and the waves, they are my brothers and the world once wild is now unified. A lovely write that at first inspires pity but can be seen through other eyes,
