Could I Have This Dance For The Rest of My Life?

Could I Have This Dance For The Rest of My Life?

A Poem by Marie

You sweep me across the dance floor of life,

in your arms, I am lovingly guided

sure of every move

head held high,

confident in your lead.

We complement each other perfectly

as we glide.

Love - the divine music we waltz to...

The dance of love and of life a beautiful metaphor and allegory. I learned late in life to dance on the floor and am still learning the dance of life. To move smoothly in rhythm with others is essential to a happy life. I loved you wording in this brief poem lovely

Oh wow, I loved this poem,
Reminds me of my muse, something I may ask him as well, some moments we wish to last "forever" but it just doesn't maybe in the other dimensions but not this world/time... '

"Love - the divine music we waltz to..." so magical yet powerful,

Thanks for sharing ..

Ah spare me the rest of this lovely night in the arms of the lover...too romantic, you keep it subtle and concise as if to tease our romantic senses, loving the chemistry here brewing between two souls in love igniting with their touch on each others' skin, the title couldn't be more magical my friend!

"You swept me across the dancefloor of life," If there is ever a better opening line to a poem, I never heard it. He leads, you follow, each step perfectly synchronized, and love is the music you dance to. A wonderful expression of your heart.

dance, art, music and poetry have a way with anyone open to receive .. your minimalistic portrait of love in motion is beautiful, in my opinion. helps me believe in what seems to be an ever darkening world .. thanks for sharing

One of my countless faults (and regrets) is that I never learned to dance. How much easier meeting girls it would have been if I had only learned to move my feet without stepping on toes! That said, I love to watch people dance who are good at it.
In this delightful poem, the dance might be actual or metaphorical, but it describes an act that is synchronized and harmonic, a perfect union of two individuals. It is a dance many of us dream of. Excellent writing, Marie.
