A Poem by Marie

Church bell breaks the silence

on a warm August day,

scattering prayers like Autumn leaves.

Lovely brevity poem Marie, I can see in my mind’ s eye a different prayer in, even in color, in each leaf that falls gently to the ground, covering it like an abstract painting full of positive notions…. What a wonderful thought and sight….

Thank you so very much for your very kind words, dear T. P...
So brief yet says so much. Church bells call attention as often do prayers not just to God but to those around in earshot. Bells ring hollow as do the voices of many that pray. Some bells have a more sincere sound and are beautiful to listen too. Some would say that bells in a bell tower are closer to God as are those who pray. As for me bells can be beautiful to listen to as are some prayers but soon fade away and are forgotten. Then there is the aspect of for whom the bell tolls. Bells sound the death of one scattering leaves in Autumn, dead leaves. Along with the prayers that come with them. So much depth in such a short piece. Brilliant!
