Eye Candy.

Eye Candy.

A Poem by Marie
"

This is NOT a personal write. It was written from an observation made while in the company of others at a social event. Thank you for reading...

"

I gave my heart
I gave my soul
I gave my everything
I gave my all
Yet, you could never see
the beautiful heart
which beat for you alone
or
the two loving eyes which
danced with joy when they
saw you
or
the arms which ached to
hold you when time
and tide separated us
or
the lips which whispered
'I Love You'
each night before I lay
down to dream of only
you
All you saw was the little extra
weight on the vessel of
the loving spirit
within
which opened your eyes
to
the eye candy you
did not have
Sometimes love is not enough
even though... Love is all there is!

If only we could know when someone longs for us, the game of romance would sure be a lot simpler. We'd still not know how compatible they might be, but at least we'd find out and could continue the search. That will never be, of course, and we'll continue to stumble across a landscape of promises and broken hearts. And as I have learned--that which appeals to the eye might be bitter on the inside. Great writing, Marie.

I'd say she let him have too much power over her. Hopefully, a man who likes a full-figured woman read more

Surely tis better to listen, inhale and gently touch than look? What can be altered, can deceive. Plus, how pathetic the mind of a man who looks into a window and only sees the price of quick change attachments.
Love looks with eyes shut tight as tight.. but feels what's right. Only time shows whether right or not. Perhaps. maybe...

Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts on my poem, dear Emma...
It's an old, old story. Couples fall madly in love for a variety of reasons, and that fire burns for a time. Then one partner begins to notice points of attraction in others and eventually things fall apart. For some, the same story unfolds many times.

Marie,
Okay, okay... I'm sitting here trying to think how to respond. I've been in a place where there was some especially delicious eye-candy from a distance, some great beauty laughing tossing her head, red hair flying. But I don't know her, will never... dream candy.
But I also know that the chances of eye-candy can be the healthiest, the best tasting, stuff you ever et! My Marzipan delight came into my life on a sunny day in May, 2020, and died on a cold December day in 2021, So what now?

Oh la, la, and who doesn't want to peek as those thoughts of carnal desire come naturally, eye candy yep, though for real lasting love, a soulmate for life, the physical attraction is very much secondary, gotta dig deeper and make that unified connection. I get you Marie, marvellous metaphor throughout ..

very emotive, well penned Marie. Heart, love and ache is an age old story, this write does a good take on it. These are beautiful lines,
"Sometimes love is not enough

The last line in this poem is heart wrenching and is the line when sewing this together is pulled to close the last vestiges of a hole. A wonderful line.

Wow ™ to be honest
These are very beautiful words to be expressed emotionally
The eyes, the arms. The lips and the heart
Well expressed and finely written
