A brief one here, but it describes vital truths. Tragic losses are never really totally forgotten, scars remain. Sometimes, even years later, those old wounds can be reopened by the slightest things. When that occurs, painful memories are revived and the past rises full blown from its grave. This phenomenon has been observed between individuals, groups and countries.

Hopefully, time has dulled their blades and blunted their teeth. If not, may we at least be better at fighting them. I used to be a warrior, ready to throw some punches, but now am more like the tall pine tree that bends in the hurricane. Blow over me. Go offend someone else.
