Alone

 

I sit and watch the waves

Listening to the soft kiss as water meets rocks

And wonder at the beauty of it all

Sadness comes to take me

I watch alone, no-one to share in the beauty I see

But the sea soothes my soul

Yet the saddness lingers

 

Fossils lie all around

Old and broken like me

Worn by the years

The weather

By time

And my heart cries out

To be taken

And not to be so Alone
