Dark Angels

Dark Angels

A Poem by Freespirit111063
"

A poem I wrote after reading about all the child suicides in Bridgewater. It's my paltry attempt at maybe making just one child or person think before doing such a thing!!!!!!!

"

Every day I watch them
Walking, talking, laughing, hating, it oozes out of every pore
It dulls the light around them
They may smile but it doesn’t touch their eyes
Nor does it crinkle the corners of their mouths

Leaves toss and tumble out of their way
The very air rushes and bristles ahead of them
Birds stop singing as they pass by
Clouds hurry across the sky to cover the sun
As the distant sound of thunder rumbles a warning of bad things to come

They brush past you, rush past you, with the coldest of stares
Or sometimes just for the thrill of it, poke you in the spine
You see nothing, hear nothing, feel nothing
Just the cold in the air and that chilling feeling of someone just having walked over your grave

But I can see them and I can hear them
For I was once like you
I walked and talked and breathed
I loved and laughed and smiled, a sunny, happy smile

Then in just one moment, one stupid, stupid moment
I committed a sinful murder as I took my own life
And now I am like them, a dark angel, a cold wind, a rustle of leaves
No sunshine, no bright smile, no laughter, no love
Simply drifting, no substance, now nothing more than a cold breeze
