Number 1 ~ Deryck~

Number 1 ~ Deryck~

A Chapter by Krystyna Herst

Homecoming is a time when you get the chance to ask your boyfriend, girlfriend or you crush to spend the entire night with them. Well, the person that I want to ask is not only in a relationship, but is a male. His name is Denver and he's a junior.
I was walking to my locker, when I saw him, talking to his boyfriend, Greysen. Damn, that kid is lucky. They were casually talking, leaning against the row of lockers. Greysen giggled at something that Denver had said. I opened my locker and pretended not to listen to the conversation that they were having. I shoved my biology book inside my locker.
"No, I'm so sorry. I'm grounded until I can get my grade up to a B." He hugged him tightly. I shut my locker.
"Hey Deryck, what's up?" Denver said.
"Nothing really. You?"
"Actually, I wanted to give you something."
He handed me an intricately folded piece of paper with my name on it.
"Get back to me when you can, okay?" I nodded and put the note in my front pocket. Denver walked away and my best friend, Serafina, walked away.
"Damn, Deryck. Were you just talking to Denver?" She asked.
"Yeah, he gave me a note."
"Let's read it!" She said as she reached into my left pocket and took it out.

 Deryck,
Sorry if I spelled your name wrong. I like how it's spelled. Anyway, you know how Greysen and I have been dating, right? Well, I like this other guy a lot and, but I have no idea how to tell him. And, I want to ask the guy to Homecoming, but I'm obviously dating Greysen. What do you think I should do? Write me a letter, okay? Then, slide it into my locker 1305 is the number. Thanks dude. Denver

"Omg, what if the guy he likes is you?!" Serafina said excited. "You are cute. Maybe it is you!" I felt myself blush. "Maybe."

I wrote the note during second period math.

Denver, Yeah, you spelled my name right. Thanks, I like how its spelled too. Yeah, I knew that you were dating him. I kinda overheard the conversation that you were having. Are you thinking of breaking up with him? If so, then yeah, you should ask the guy, whoever he is, to Homecoming. Good luck dude, get back whenever. Deryck. :D

I folded it and put it into my pocket. I'm really beginning to think that I'm the guy he's gonna ask. I think he should just go for it.
Serafina and I walked to our next class, gym.
"You guys would be so cute together." She said.
"Thanks. Are you gonna go to Homecoming?"
"Not unless I can find a nice girl to go with me."
Yes, Serafina is a lesbian. A lot of girls give her a really hard time We went into our separate locker rooms and got dressed. Denver came up to me while I was putting my gym shirt on. I took my pants out of my locker and took out the note. "Thanks." He said He walked away and opened the piece of paper that I had given him "Hey!" Someone yelled. I looked to my right to see my other best friend, Chase Epstein.
"Oh, hey dude, what's up?"
"Nothing much, just trying to figure out who to ask to Homecoming."
Chase is hetero and he has a huge crush on head cheerleader, Dana Marie Trezen. To be totally honest, I don't think he has a chance with her. He's kinda cute, but kinda dorky too. He's really sweet and caring, though. I would date him. Just throwing that out there.
"Let me guess, Dana Marie?" He blushed deeply.
"Yeah, but she's not gonna say yes."
"You never know dude..."

This was good :) My only critique is that in the beginning you are very confused, there needs to be more backround. :)
