Candy OriginA Poem by Celie RoseCandy has a long history.Candy Origin english word called candy, derives from Arabic, quadi something made of sugar or honey made from bees. candy is awesome and as sweet as can be, it tantalizes taste buds whenever you eat. has an agreeable, pleasant and delightful taste, it is not bitter, sour or salty, the texture is simply great. the origin of candy has a very long history, early man created the idea 1500BC. man ate honey combs and honey that was dandy. a sweet jubilation, oh my goodness it is candy. the first kind of candy, sugar coated fruit, nuts, and seeds, back in ancient medicine, used licorice and jujubes, to heal sickness, and lesson infirmities, it's hard to believe but they did this, yes indeed! a marvelous creation. cured any sweet tooth seen. in later days those two drugs became modern day candy. ancient Egyptians mixed fruit, nuts, dates and spice with lots of sticky honey. this was their sheer delight. the greeks used the same ingredients to make candy, honey coated fruit and honey glazed flowers. they were clever artists. and they're creations were enticing. and part of their cuisine. during the middle ages candy was in demand, a sought out delicacy for those who were wealthy. and the higher class clans.. by the seventeenth century, sugar was in shortage, there was a big need. England and America ate boiled sugar candles, mixed with fruit and nut. used this candy. it must have been rough. for them to eat candy that was tough. but let's not forget about turkish delight. this form of candy was clearly out of sight. seventeen sixty-five, first chocolate factory climbed. in the united states, who could not wait for their turn, for a prosperous enterprise confirmed. during the eighteenth century, caramels and lollipops, came about using factories. they would manufacture candy. hard candy like lemon drops, peppermints sure hit the spot. last but not least, the nineteenth century, after the discovery of sugar beet, used to sweeten candy. it comes from the beet, as a matter of fact, it's sugar is extracted, manufactured, this is factual. an alternative sugar source to cane, was made. advancement, betterment, in the mechanical age, had made it's way. mass amounts of candy were manufactured. use of color and different flavors, to quench satisfaction these were added to the candy. assortment of flavors for everyone to savor. yum,yum! England was the first country to produce hard candy, in large quantities. eighteen fifty-one, large amounts of assorted boiled sweets, bonbons, caramels chocolate cream, and candy bars, to devour, a chocolate lover's dream. I got a golden ticket! I got a golden ticket! I got a golden ticket in my hands! there were many more delicious kinds of candy created. these candies were representing Europe and America. candy is grand. © 2016 Celie RoseAuthor's Note
