windows HIGH, on tall houses-night scattered yellow- lights outside.. car horns scream- Still soundly.. people dream safe up in their cosy nests-neatly like little squirrels they rest- ANIMALS ........and the city is their forest
You gave me the hustle and bustle and the sounds of the city, from the perspective of living in a high rise flat. I was born in the capital city of my country, but can honestly say, that sort of living isn't for me. I have got used to rural living now. Plenty of imagery in your lines.

Thank you for your read and your kind comment. I'm glad the poem stirred some memories for you.
i can relate to this so well having been born and raised in the Bronx.
We lived in a five story apartment building on the fifth floor.
and yes, those sounds of cars, car horns from the Major Deegan Expressway...
we were surely way up in our nest.
Besides relating to the poem...I see you are from Sweden....My folks lived there for two years in the seventies...my dad was transferred a lot when he worked with Texaco.
the city is like a concrete jungle...that is a truth.

Urban life is fun. I live in a big city in a country that has the fastest internet speed in the entire world and download rate. So I can easily download a bunch of stuff quickly! The night is beautiful too!
