We'll Change the World

We'll Change the World

A Poem by Freder Fredersen (aka Grady)
"

Red with black stars. And very round.

"

We’ll Change the World

We’ll change the world,
If weather permits.
We’ll reach the stars,
If the clouds are not out.

We’ll make passionate love,
If we’re not too tired.
We’ll sing songs out loud,
If we can remember the words.

We’ll stop these wars,
If the enemy surrenders.
We’ll protest all night,
If the cops don’t come.

We’ll care for the poor,
If we have the time.
We’ll change the world!
But only if it’s convenient.

Hug one of your worst enemies. They probably need it as much as you do.

I really like this. =] It's so true, your whole meaning. Great work.

You know, you almost don't even need the last line. While reading, I definitely got that feel of sarcasm, of someone angry about all the two-faced people out there. The last line was just a confirmation. That's the sign of an effective poem: I got it without you even having to tell me! Very well done!
