The Journey

The Journey

A Poem by Freder Fredersen (aka Grady)
"

Read it! LOL

"

How deeply buried

Beneath flesh is the soul

For some: a vast universe

For some: a black hole

In darkness or brightness

Grasping and groping

To touch the sublime

Just heaving and hoping

Traveling by maps

Half-drawn by lost wraiths

Some scribbled by science

Some chiseled by faith

For some: the sun rises

For some: the sun sets

On dimly lit paths

That may stretch beyond death

All along the wayside

There are those who fall

And sit watching and waiting

And don't travel at all

I trudge my thin trail

My map in my hand

Believing it will lead me

To the Land Beyond Lands

But, I bear you no judgment

As our paths divide

But, instead, hope to see you

Where all paths collide

Nice one, Freder. I really enjoyed the tempo and flow of this one. I particularly found the last stanza very deep.

Nice philosophy for the world I think to allow all to follow their path without judgement and to appreciate the times that we cross paths. I think I'll take a nice easy chair at the point "where all paths collide" and take it all in. :-) I enjoyed reading this, it is a beautiful work.
