Sacred Ceremonial Rebellion

Sacred Ceremonial Rebellion

A Poem by Freder Fredersen (aka Grady)

Hail sacred ceremonial rebellion, boot

up random slang storm, sing swarms
of committee approved indignations.
Fear flavored freedom from plastic cups

trickles soft chins of unleaded rebels.

Lying young heads rock to honest rhythm
of a seditious past now slain.
Conformity in anarchistic wrappers;

dapper lambs spit crepe paper dragon
flames. Names spelled in platinum scales
from half-price sales. Tattoo free with

purchase!

Shifting trends pierce flesh and paint faces.
Tribes scatter on matters of fashion and fact:
rubber serpents in untangled congress,

shedding skins, flashing bonded grins,

breathing balderdash brotherhood

and solidarity like asbestos particles.

Never fearing lonely ends from crowded

middles.

Collect plug nickels from fickle fiends;

tokens of friendship sinking in wholes.

Grown holes punched in childish kicks;

Pure amalgamation fades to partly party biz

mixers. Tribal rings don’t accommodate square pegs,

but new band members available on Craig’s List.
Even double helixes untwist when pulled

tight by time and tides. Misfits stride toward

orthodoxy. Moxie peeled from soles and

souls. Hands slip controls. Foes, friends and

faux friends all become acquaintances. Revolution

forgotten.

For now.

This is a really brilliant poem in so many ways. I need to come back and do a more thorough review, but I wanted you to know how much I really loved this poem.
