Bouncing Off The Walls

Bouncing Off The Walls

A Poem by Fraser Murray

Always bouncing off the walls for all the wrong reasons,
I'm not even f*****g living; I'm just drunk way out of season,
And a straight line is not mine when it comes to dragging feet
So I just grab myself a pint and find a place to take a seat,
Until I stumble, bumble over words I should've mumbled,
Under breath so cracked with smoke that I can barely feel the rumble of a
Windpipe sick of this life,
I slip and fall and tumble to a place where men like me throw all their dreams unto the jungle,
To be lost beneath this canopy of "truth"
I've fabricated since my youth,
The lies I tell myself were never meant for you,
They were never meant for you but I inflict them on you still,
And though I try so hard to change,
I lack that central sense of will,
Which can define a love that's blind to all the things that torture you,
