I Am NotA Poem by Fraser MurrayExperimenting with some repetition and a slightly different style
I am not here until you need me, and even then I am no good,
I am not the man you think you see, always misunderstood, I am not lost, I cannot be; though niether am I found, I am floating inbetween the great unknown and common ground, I am not your friend, though I wish that one day I could be, I am not an end or a beginning, I have no part in history, I am not broken, merely healing, licking wounds I cannot see, I am not familiar with this feeling but it talks like it knows me, I am not a person but this corpse, it walks, just like a human body, I am not living, Fraser passed away a few sad years ago, I am not him, but let's pretend, cause I don't want his mum to know, I am not him although I wear his skin, his muscles and his bones, I am not sure if it's a bad thing but I can't seem to let him go, I am not pure, I am not fasting, I am not dreaming or relaxing, I am not securely strapped-in to this ride that barely catches my attention in the first place, I am not concerned with winning in your stupid f*****g race, So go ahead and place your bets on seeing every single face but mine crossing that finish line, Cause I am not me, and it appears I am not fine. © 2019 Fraser Murray |
