Life Is A GardenA Poem by Fraser MurraySome artsy fartsy positivity I dreamt up last night, really happy with how this turned out
Wake up, smell the daisies, turn the page on s****y phases,
like sunflowers will turn their faces towards the light, I'll feel the rays of sun and fight the urge to scream out my delight at how I feel each time I write, the roses grow and bloom in spite of all the clouds and sleepless nights, the petals forming into bright displays of pain and compromise, aside the the cherry tree so old and wise it wethered years of cold and ice, the roots, exploring, tightly tied in knots as they spread wide to drink their lot of nature's nectar, leaves may drop but grow back better, never stop, as they decay and find their way back to the cosmic melting pot, intoxicating poppies leave seeds in my mind, prevent the rot from overcoming all the beauty that I truly thought I'd lost, this living tapestry presents itself to me; I'm not on drugs but if I didn't know, I'd think that I might be, the ivy hugs the walls so desperately, I swear that it's in love with all the bricks and tiny bugs, I used to see these things and shrug in apathy, no 'lord above' could save a soul that's so bone dry and caked in mud, I saved myself; I said I would, and no one else can taint the love I've found for tulips as they bud and burst and quench their thirst for Earth's equivalent of blood, in darker days the stems will stay and battle winds that make them sway, so plant your seeds and drag away the creeping weeds that make you stay, the path to peace can start today, because life is a garden grown your own way.
