Once More

Once More

A Poem by Randomness
"

Sometimes you just can't get away from it. You just can't.

"

It doesn’t look much better

Than it did the day before.

And like they say it can rain,

It, as well, can also pour.

Tonight my words are flooding

Cause the memories have returned,

Mangled, twisted, unraveled.

Vicious, malicious and churned.

The thoughts can take me over,

Unforgiving in it’s wake,

Making peace impossible,

As my soul begins to ache.

Thoughts, memories, emotions,

Entangled and tightly wound,

Unable to tell the difference

Between the silence and the sound.

Each breath almost impossible,

Convulsing with every sigh,

My body week and ragged,

As I give in to the night.

It reaches deep inside me

And unleashes all my fears,

Unmasking every moment

Of the past and present years.

Tonight it comes to haunt me,

Just like the times before,

And once again I submit

To the pain that comes once more.
