Summer's EndA Story by Francis Orion100 word Drabble
Like a haunting ghost, his cold presence keep coming back. At first it seemed humorous, almost unbelievable. The snide whispers she would hear under his frosty breathe. She just ignored them, he was hidden from her for so long. The fact that he returned to share a dwelling seemed coincidental. But, with each passing day his voice grew louder. His words became colder, sending shivers down her spine anticipating his icy touch. Days grew shorter. Old man winter had finally overtaken Summer and dragged her into the dark shadows of winter, as the last leaf fell to the frosty ground.
