"Much obliged," I said to the cashier.
"What?" she asked.
"Much obliged." My new dentures, sigh, still mashing consonants after half a year.
"I don't get it, whatz zat mean?"
It wasn't the dentures, at least not entirely. "It means thank you, I'm in your debt," I elucidated.
"No you paid it all theirs you're receipt." I heard that spelling despite the impossibility.
"And sir?"
"Hum?"
"Thanks for shopping Walmart."
And as if this weren't horrid enough, they are not teaching cursive writing in school anymore either. If language is the foundation, our future is on shaky ground.
I know there's great debate over whether it's ok or not to end a sentence with a preposition, but I'm on the side that says it's not ok. That line really made me laugh.

Thank you, I'm glad my whimsy caught your eye. I appreciate you read! :)
English is not my 1st language and I don't see any problem with this! Every language is changing over the years and whichever way the people use it as long as it's easy to understand, easy to remember then it'll be well accepted. Many words like CU, 4U, U2, LOL, 2NITE, K... are so common these days. I see Many old people use them as well, so it can't be wrong.
I can't wait for a person to read this whose first language isn't English. Then again, there may be some English-only folks who'll not see a single error. (I've met some, right here on WC) Don't even get me started on the tech-speakers. Going back to my whittling now.

Writing for fun, writing for release, writing for escape. sometimes poetic, sometimes whimsical, sometimes erotic, but always means something to me. more..
